Born: November 02, 2005
Died: October 29, 2011
God looked around His garden and found two roses named Emilee and Emia Bowser. He delivered these roses to Scott and Sandra Bowser on November 2, 2005 in Detroit, Michigan. Nearly six years would pass as the twins’ family cherished the joy and beauty of these two roses. On October 29, 2011 at St. John Hospital in Detroit, God chose Emilee to return to His home and be kept in His heavenly bouquet.
Emilee will be forever remembered by her parents; Scott and Sandra (Burton) Bowser of Shelby Township, MI, twin Emia Bowser and sister Miranda Burton, maternal grandmother Joyce Burton of Shelby Twp., maternal grandfather Denzil Burton of Roseville, MI, paternal grandmother Judy Smith of Union, South Carolina, paternal grandfather Maurice Bowser of Fort Wayne, Indiana, four aunts and uncles; Sheila (Samuel) Varner of St. Helen, Oregon, Kimberly (Robert) Nowicki of Eastpointe, MI, Godfather Marvin Burton of Chesterfield Twp., MI, Connie Jo Linebarger of Knoxville, Tennessee, nine cousins including Godfather Christopher Burton, and two second cousins.
Known as “Little Angel” to many, Emilee is remembered as a joyful little girl even through all of her treatments during the past year as she struggled with brain cancer. She was comical in nature, always enjoying the opportunity to joke around with her friends and family. She could often be found watching or playing with her favorite character Sponge Bob. Emilee was baptized at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Eastpointe, and attended kindergarten at Mark Twain Elementary School in Fraser, MI. She enjoyed swimming, gymnastics, and playing with her friends. Always generous with herself, she was a “little hugger,” giving a hug to anybody who gave her something or simply needed it. Her generosity shined in her donation of her own hair to other sick children through Locks of Love - a decision she made and fully understood.
Recent trips to Disney World in the Spring of 2011 and Michigan Adventures in the Summer of 2011, were highlights that she was blessed to share with her sisters Miranda and Emia through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The nurses from DMC Children’s Hospital in Detroit were grateful to have the opportunity to share the day with Emilee at CJ Barrymore’s Entertainment Center in Clinton Twp. These outings and trips created many happy memories for her sisters and family to share.
Emilee’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 at 10:00a.m. in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mount Clemens with the Rev. Mark W. Hetzner officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday, November 3rd, and Friday, November 4th from 2:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens Cemetery East, Clinton Twp., MI. Memorial donations in memory of Emilee may be sent to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or Karmanos Cancer Institute. Share memories with the family at www.vickfuneralhome.com.
